Is the machine reliable and how good is the customer service? These are all important considerations for you in making a decision.
The first consideration is the type of espresso machine that you want and how much work you want to do in making your coffee . There are three major types - manual, semi automatic and automatic. Manual machines are usually the cheapest and involve doing all the work yourself in making your coffee . I'm mentioning this because the absurdity of those numbers just hit me. I did not set out to lay in a two year supply of paper filters for our coffee pot, even though we do drink a lot of coffee around our house. So much, in fact, the cheap coffee pots we buy only last about a year before they begin pumping twelve cups of my favorite brew down the front of the cupboard and across the kitchen floor.
None of those pots have lasted long enough to use the 700 filters we bought which, of course, only fit this model of coffee maker. Even if it did last two years, why do I have to commit to seven hundred pots of coffee when I'm not sure I can afford that much coffee over the next seven hundred days?
In our office, we use quite a few paper clips. I use about two a day to keep matching pages together so I can lose them all together. I bend

It starts making the coffee but doesn't make the full pot. The water accumulates in the filter. I haven't had this thing not even 1 year!
Have you changed filter brands or types recently? Is the little drain hole at the bottom of the filter basket clogged?
Good Luck
