I am thrilled beyond words! I so love this little pot! It is gorgeous and so able to produce great coffee. I was able to successfully make a mocha that far surpassed any I have spent -5 on. This little pot is just so cool! First, its adorable, actually quite a beautiful piece. Its heavy stainless steel, has a great feel in your hands. Very well made, with the cute Bialetti logo engraved on side. Second, its extremely easy to use. Third, it makes a great cup of strong, delicious coffee! Fourth, its very VERY easy to clean. Here’s how I make the best mocha and latte: follow directions on your pot for filling the bottom with water, fill the coffee filter with Dunkin Donuts ground coffee (yes, all you coffee snobs, DD coffee worked fabulously!) level with your finger, but DO NOT TAMP. Dust off edge of reservoir, screw on top part of pot. Place on med/hi NOT HIGH, heat and be careful to situate so you dont burn the handle. Stay close, cuz in about 5min it will be done…

I’m an avid coffee drinker and a bit of coffee snob. No double decaf skim macchiato or any of those made-up drinks and barista stuff, I’m talking actual real coffee, black, so you can taste the underlying quality without a sprinkling of cinnamon powder. I’ve had coffee all over the world and constantly wondered why, despite our national love affair with food and artisanal ingredients, we don’t have great coffee in this country on par with Italy, France, or even Australia and Japan. To drink good coffee in the US you have to make it at home, and even that is difficult to do right.
At least until two weeks ago, when my new coffee maker changed my life.
In the past 20 years I’ve tried everything from the original Mr. Coffee to fancier drip machines by Krups and Viking, the French press, old fashioned percolators, and I even own a fancy Italian espresso maker that does a serviceable if time consuming job of producing rich coffee, one miniature cup at a time. For the past few years I have satisfied my five cup a day habit with an Italian stovetop moka pot by Bialetti, the hourglass shaped design you see in almost every Italian kitchen. It is ritualistic, one cup at a time, with a lot of screwing and unscrewing and cleaning, but it makes good coffee.

Recently I bought the Bialetti coffee maker (http://www.davidmellordesign.com/acatalo ... ), hoping it would save my mornings. But it's not working the way I expected.
Since I just started to drink coffee and my taste is not "refined"
I've used one of these for years and find a darker roast works the best but not Espresso.
Use a medium to coarse grind coffee (Fine grind does not work) and buy whole beans.
Use a Medium to High heat on stove (~8)
