Since the reservoir of my 3-year-old coffee maker had never been cleaned, I was eager to try Full Circle Coffee Machine Cleaning Powder on my very basic Mr. Coffee 12-cup brewer. Full Circle says the product is made from natural ingredients, is odorless and will extend the life of the equipment. I also hoped it would get rid of the reservoir’s slight musty odor.
After mixing the powder with water into 32 ounces of cleaning solution, you follow directions for your particular coffee maker. I poured the solution into the reservoir of my machine and turned it on, letting half the solution brew into the carafe. I then turned it off for 30 minutes, letting the remaining solution soak in the reservoir. What brewed out of the coffee maker was foamy and the color of beer.
